ABOUT US

Anaco Care Services is a semi-independent accommodation provider that offers ring fenced accommodation for male and female from the age 16-18 that have been placed in care as according to of the Children Act 1989

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

AIM:

We aim to ensure young people are able to develop and maintain respect, self-reliance and self-care skills and enable them to make informed, age-appropriate decisions, concerning their present and future so they can achieve a successful transition into independence and adulthood.

VISION:

Anaco Care Services aim to offer best value, high quality accommodation and support resources which are individually tailored to meet the needs of young people referred to us. We will provide a supportive environment for young people which offers stability and appropriate nurturance at a time in their lives when they need it most. Alongside this, a holistic assessment incorporating all presented needs and risks will be established.

Anaco Care Services is specially geared to providing placements to young people that are experiencing a crisis in their lives and require a period of structure. The length of placement will be flexible and determined by the Pathway Plan for the young person.

16-18 SUPPORTED ACCOMMODATION

Our 16+ homes provides young people with a safe and supportive environment to help them transition into full independence.

 

1. Accommodation & Safety

  •    Private rooms with basic furniture

  •    Secure and well-maintained property

  •    24/7 on-call support or supervision

  •    Risk assessments and safeguarding policies

 

2. Life Skills Development

  • Support with budgeting and financial management

  • Cooking and meal preparation guidance

  • Cleaning and home maintenance skills

  • Personal hygiene and self-care support

⁠3. Emotional & Well-being Support

  • Access to key workers or support staff

  • Mental health and emotional well-being support

  • Encouragement in developing healthy relationships

  • Help with managing stress and conflict resolution

 

⁠4. Education, Employment & Training Support

  • Encouragement to attend school, college, or training programs

  • Assistance in finding work or apprenticeships

  • Support with CV writing, job applications, and interviews

 

5. Health & Medical Support

  • Assistance in registering with a GP, dentist, and optician

  • Support with attending health appointments

  • Guidance on sexual health, substance misuse, and general well-being

 

6. Social & Community Integration

  • Help in building social connections and confidence

  • Access to leisure and recreational activities

  • Encouragement to engage in volunteering or community work

7. Legal & Practical Support

  • Assistance with understanding tenancy rights and responsibilities

  • Help in accessing benefits or financial aid

  • Guidance on obtaining identification documents (e.g., passport, bank account)

 

8. Transition to Independence

  • Development of an independent living plan

  • Help in securing permanent accommodation
     

Doing Homework

18+ CARE LEAVERS

Our 18+ provision focuses on helping young adults transition to full independence while providing a safety net of support. Since they are legally adults, the level of supervision is usually lower than in a 16+ setting, but key support services are still in place.

 

1. Safe & Stable Accommodation

  • Private rooms with essential furniture

  • Secure and well-maintained property

  • 24/7 emergency support or on-call staff

  • Clear tenancy agreements and house rules

2. ⁠Independence & Life Skills Development

  • Budgeting and financial management (paying bills, rent, and saving)

  • Cooking and meal planning

  • Cleaning, laundry, and home maintenance

  • Time management and personal responsibility

 

3. Emotional & Well-being Support

  • Key workers or mentors for guidance

  • Mental health and well-being support (e.g., therapy referrals, coping strategies)

  • Conflict resolution and stress management

  • Support with building self-confidence and resilience

 

⁠4. Education, Employment & Career Support

  • Encouragement to stay in education, training, or work

  • Help with CV writing, job searches, and interview skills

  • Support in applying for apprenticeships or further education

  • Assistance with professional development opportunities

 

5. Health & Medical Assistance

  • Ensuring access to GP, dentist, and optician services

  • Sexual health, substance misuse, and general well-being support

  • Encouragement to attend medical and therapy appointments

 

6. Social & Community Integration

  • Encouragement to build healthy relationships and social skills

  • Support in engaging with hobbies, clubs, or community activities

  • Assistance with travel and transport independence

 

7. Legal & Financial Support

  • Help in understanding legal rights and responsibilities

  • Support with accessing benefits or financial aid

  • Assistance with securing official identification (e.g., passport, driving license)

8. Housing & Long-Term Independence Planning

  • Support with finding and securing permanent housing

  • Guidance on tenancy agreements and housing rights

  • Help with moving into private or social housing

  • Support in setting up utilities and managing household expenses

 

The main difference between 16+ and 18+ homes is that 18+ residents are expected to take more responsibility for their daily lives, with staff acting more as advisors and mentors rather than direct caregivers.
